ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Electrical systems include:
    • HV & MV distribution
    • Switchgears and breakers
    • Transformers
    • Protection relays
    • Electrical testing & commissioning of various components
    • Power system study (Short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
    • Power system and controls single-line diagram interpretation
    • Semi-conductor factory power supply distributions
    • Emergency generator system
    • UPS system
    • Voltage sag correctors
    • Variable-speed drives
    • Transfer switches – ATS or CTTS
  • Direct and execute project commissioning to ensure all electrical systems equipment, components and infrastructure perform as designed
  • Project execution in support of safety, reliability, quality, environmental and cost objectives
  • Power quality management
  • Electrical grounding systems
  • Provide facilities electrical system engineering in support of team and project objectives
  • Permitting and code compliance related to electrical systems and associated infrastructure
  • Integrate reliability focus and risk analysis into job scope
  • Team with internal and external partners to ensure projects and systems are cost effective, within budget, meet the desired design criteria and schedule requirements
  • Review and respond to construction management documentation such as submittals and RFIs
  • Support engineering analysis, design, and installation oversight of the electrical distribution systems
  • Organize and plan design activities or manage external design teams in the execution deliverables
  • Create and communicate project documentation including sequence of operations, installation procedures, and checklists for commissioning and start-up
  • Write scopes of work, bid request for proposals, specify and order material

THE IDEAL PERSON FOR FILL THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in wiring, cable tray, conduit, transformer, and lighting calculations
  • Experience in application and selection of variable frequency drives, motor control centers, integrated motor starter disconnects, and three phase AC motors
  • Experience with UPS systems, automatic transfer switches, generators, and parallel switching gear
  • Current and relevant knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical gear and distributions and openness to learning high voltage equipment and work requirements
  • Relevant understanding of: arc flash requirements, calculations and labeling, along with specification and usage of power monitoring devices
  • Experience with managing projects in design and construction
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and have ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a high standard of professional integrity
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing corrective and preventative actions
  • Excellent time management and priority-setting skills; ability to effectively advance multiple activities concurrently
  • Applicant should also have the following skills: leadership, effective communications, organized, presentation and problem solving
  • Excellent people skills including leadership and influencing others
  • Self-starter with the ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong safety leadership
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs; as well as AutoCAD and similar design software

Preferred Job Skills and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in electrical engineering or related engineering field
  • 5 years+ experience with semiconductor facility electrical systems
  • Experience in creating switching orders
  • Capable of reviewing energized work permits as well as creating and executing switching orders inclusive of substations, fault fiters, and transformers
  • HV/LV operation skill
  • Familiar with electrical codes
