Supporting the Breast Cancer Movement as a United Company, TSP Races Together for the Cure

DALLAS TSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, sponsored employee participation in the Susan G. Komen® North Texas Plano Race for the Cure® 5K this past weekend, proudly doing its part to support the fight against breast cancer.

“A large part of TSP’s vision is investing time and money into the communities where we live, work and play. We make a consistent effort to rally employees around local events and causes that are near and dear to our employees. We had a great time walking together, and were proud to support the Susan G. Komen North Texas foundation,” said Rick Skaggs, co-founder of TSP.

The race took place on June 13 at HP and The Campus of Legacy in Plano, TX. Fourteen TSP employees participated together on team #TSProckstars.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created. The event raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

TSP’s HR Manager Kristi Suddock encouraged TSP to get involved with Susan G. Komen North Texas because her family has been personally touched by breast cancer. Kristi has been involved with Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for eight years, and has also walked in the Dallas/Fort Worth 3-Day (a 60-mile event) for five years, as well as staffing and volunteering for the event. Her family connection is one of a few featured in Komen’s 3-Day Stories.

“Breast cancer has affected my family significantly – my father passed away from breast cancer ten years ago, and both of my sisters are breast cancer survivors,” said Suddock. “I’m proud and grateful to work for a company that values charitable giving and community involvement to support this cause that’s so close to me.”

Listening and Responding Quickly Paves the Way for TSP’s Newest Customers

DALLAS – TSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, announces two new customers, bringing the total number of active customers to more than 140, with a 95% customer retention rate.

Listening and responding quickly were key elements in the two new wins. “We received the new customer lead on June 2 and promptly contacted and had lunch with the potential customer two days later. Within four days, our candidate interviewed with the customer, and an offer was accepted just two days after the interview, with a start date of June 22,” said Ernie Almario, senior business manager, TSP.

Both new customers fall under TSP’s consulting services branch, which includes permanent placement, contract-to-hire, and term recruiting options. By utilizing TSP’s consulting services, customers can leave the time-consuming hiring process to TSP, and focus on their business objectives.

TSP’s new emerging business team was created in early 2015 and tasked with bringing new customers and business into the TSP family. These two new consulting services contracts are entirely credited to the success of the new emerging business team.

TSP firmly believes that success begins with a quick response to staffing needs, a thorough understanding of each position’s requirements, and a focus on employee retention and customer satisfaction.

“It’s not rocket science. We listen to what our customers need and respond with a personalized solution,” said Rick Skaggs, co-founder and president, TSP. “Many service providers respond to their customers with a pre-defined list of services before even listening to what their customer is telling them. At TSP, all of our solutions are custom-tailored to exactly what our clients need. I couldn’t be more proud of our growth and the emerging business team’s efforts. We warmly welcome Petsche & Associates and Tepsco as our newest valued customers,” said Skaggs.

Coupling Outstanding Customer Service with Emerging Business Team Efforts, TSP Continues to Grow

DALLAS – TSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, announces seven new service contracts, which are expected to collectively bring approximately $1 million dollars in annual revenue to TSP. Each contract comes with a life expectancy of seven-plus years. TSP continues its impressive growth trend, in large part by coupling its commitment to outstanding customer service with the strategic efforts of its newly formed emerging business team.

TSP’s New Service Contracts:

  • Customer for over two years converted their existing time and materials (T&M) contract to a managed services contract.
  • Existing customer for over four years added a new QCS maintenance services contract in Port Hudson, LA.
  • New customer signed on with a consulting services contract via permanent placement, where TSP will work as a recruiting arm for the organization (TSP also works with customers on contract-to-hire and term recruiting bases).
  • Two longstanding customers added a consulting services contract each and increased the headcount of TSP employees onsite.
  • Industrial Automation customer added two new QCS maintenance services contracts in Tacoma, WA and Battle Creek, MI.

At the onset of 2015, TSP started a new, strategic sales organization within TSP, its emerging business team. This team is solely responsible for identifying and pursuing new growth opportunities, expanding TSP’s already prestigious roster of customers. The team is comprised of seasoned #TSProckstars who uniquely understand TSP’s vast portfolio of services and solutions.

“New customers and expanded service contracts are vital to the long-term success of TSP. We are thrilled to expand our business with existing clients like Neiman Marcus, Georgia Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems, KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation, and RockTenn, and we enthusiastically welcome new customer Molex Incorporated,” said Rick Skaggs, co-founder and president, TSP.

“Providing exceptional value to our existing customer base fueled our growth to date. This is still at the core of who we are as a company, but in order to grow, we must pursue new business with both current and prospective customers. As these seven new contracts prove, our emerging business team has done a fantastic job so far. I look forward to seeing even more of their success in the future, as we look to TSP’s next group of marquee customers and contracts,” said Skaggs.

DALLAS – TSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, served as the signature minority business enterprise (MBE) sponsor of ACCESS 2015, hosted by the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council, May 11-12 at the Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas. TSP is a minority business enterprise and member of the DFW MSDC. Over 1,000 minority-owned businesses in North Texas participated in the largest regional business expo connecting corporations and public sector agencies with certified minority-owned businesses.

“We enjoyed the events and networking at ACCESS 2015, and we were proud to sponsor, along with our friends at Texas Instruments. We made great connections with other minority-owned businesses and buying entities,” said Rick Skaggs, co-founder and president of TSP.

“Texas Instruments signed on as our first customer 13 years ago, three months after we were founded. Texas Instruments’ procurement is friendly toward local and diverse suppliers, which helped get our foot in the door. We now have hundreds of TSP team members onsite at TI, largely due to our ability to listen to the customer and provide tailored solutions. We’re thankful to the DFW MSDC for giving us the opportunity to sponsor this event, and providing a great venue for making real-time connections,” said Frank Gonzalez, co-founder and vice president of TSP.

The two-day expo hosted over 70 confirmed State of Texas agencies recruited by State Senator Royce West. The attending agencies conducted on-the-spot bid opportunities. New to ACCESS 2015 was an Opportunity Board designed to maximize the real-time connections experience, a Business Solutions Pavilion, offering small business solutions and product demonstrations, and a Media Lounge, featuring interactive video interviews.

Rick Skaggs, TSP’s co-founder and president, was interviewed by the DFW MSDC team as part of ACCESS’ Media Lounge.

The two-day expo also featured corporate and MBE roundtables and one-on-one business matchmaking between corporations, public sector entities, and minority business suppliers looking to discuss immediate and near term opportunities.

TSP Serves as Signature Sponsor for North Texas Christian Academy’s Burger Bash & Auction

DALLASTSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, served as a signature sponsor at the North Texas Christian Academy’s annual Burger Bash & Auction event April 25.

In-N-Out Burger provided the burgers and refreshments, while the Low Pointe Band performed and NTCA hosted the silent auction. Bob Smiley, one of the nation’s most in-demand Christian comedians, entertained attendees with his comedy act. Auction items included paintings and art projects by students, as well as items donated by sponsors, including art, gift cards, and food items.

This year’s auction was one of the most successful for NTCA, who sold 423 tickets and raised nearly $23,000. A portion of the proceeds benefited the In-N-Out Burger Child Abuse Foundation, which has been giving hope to abused and neglected children since 1984.

“It’s important for TSP to have a presence in our community and support causes that matter to us. NTCA is a top-notch school with a mission of providing students for life, rather than just college. We’re proud to help them out with their fundraising efforts,” said Rick Skaggs, co-founder and president, TSP.

“Our Spring Event is our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year. This year’s event was one of the most successful yet. We owe a lot of that to TSP and their sponsorship! We are thankful to partner with a company such as TSP whose generous support goes a long way in helping us achieve our goals for our school,” said Aaron Chowning, head of school, North Texas Christian Academy.

North Texas Christian Academy is committed to preparing students for life and faith through a superior spiritual, scholastic and social experience.

Third-Annual Motorcycle Ride Benefitting Leighton’s Gift Sponsored by TSP

DALLASTSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, announced it will be the platinum sponsor of the third-annual Leighton’s Ride, a fundraising motorcycle ride on May 16 benefiting Leighton’s Gift, a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to turn a tragedy into something positive. The organization’s current project includes installing Angel Eye webcam systems in the NICU at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. These webcams help parents with infants at the NICU to see their babies at any time from their computer, smart phone, tablet or other web-enabled device.

“TSP is proud to be the platinum sponsor this year for Leighton’s Ride, an amazing cause close to our hearts,” said Frank Gonzalez, co-founder and vice-president, TSP. “We firmly believe it’s important for us to give back as a company and contribute to our community.”

The third annual charity ride will start on May 16 at 9am in Celina, TX and culminate at noon at Adam Smith’s Texoma Harley in Sherman, TX. Individuals interested in registering can complete and submit the registration packet here.

Login services and webcam use are offered free of charge to parents with infants in the NICU, making Texas Health Plano the first hospital in Collin County with NICU webcams. The webcams also allow parents to speak to their child, facilitating the bonding experience when parents can’t physically be at their bedside.

Leighton’s Gift was incorporated in 2013 by Chris Skaggs, TSP’s director of strategic initiatives, and his wife, Amy Skaggs. Chris and Amy’s twins, Leighton Sophie Taylor and Jaxon Cohen were born on May 26, 2013 at only 28 weeks and six days gestation. Just three weeks after her birth, Leighton was diagnosed with Late Onset Group B Strep (GBS) and passed away within 48 hours. While undergoing this tragic experience, Chris and Amy struggled with the strict rules of the NICU, which prevented their families from ever meeting Leighton.

“We’ve come a long way since we started this journey, and we’re thrilled that we’ve wired up 19 out of Texas Health’s 45 beds,” said Chris Skaggs. “We’re so grateful to TSP for their continued support of our organization.”

Leighton’s Gift has created a legacy for Leighton by using technology to help other parents going through this difficult experience to feel more connected and comfortable. The Skaggs’ story was featured recently in a CNN iReport, along with a CNN story on journeys through infertility.

TSP Becomes Largest Third-Party Provider of QCS Equipment Services

DALLASTSP (Technology Service Professionals), a leading provider of information technology services to Fortune 500 companies, announced it has acquired the service contract portion of IMS (Industrial Maintenance Services, Inc.), which specializes in maintaining and servicing equipment for paper production.

“Paper mills often use a mix of both ABB and Honeywell equipment. This acquisition means we can achieve a customer service experience that’s unparalleled in the industry. Paper mills can now deal with just one contract and know they’re getting the best comprehensive service to meet all their individual needs. TSP has been an evolving organization from day one. We began 13 years ago as a computer support business and have grown to provide solutions for enterprise, shared services, and industrial automation. Our growth has been due in large part to our ability to listen to customers and find a way to provide whatever they needed. Acquiring IMS allows us to fill a major gap in the market because we now have the flexibility to manage additional levels of industrial automation equipment,” said Frank Gonzalez, TSP co-founder and vice president.

The acquisition opens new doors to TSP’s industrial automation solutions business unit and makes TSP the largest third-party provider of quality control systems (QCS) equipment services for both Honeywell and ABB products.

Most paper mills across the U.S. and Canada use Honeywell or ABB power and automation technologies, but no single service provider specializes in both. TSP has a long history working with Honeywell products, and IMS’s focus on ABB products gives TSP the flexibility to offer expert services on both brands.

“Paper mills often use a mix of both ABB and Honeywell equipment. This acquisition means we can achieve a customer service experience that’s unparalleled in the industry. Paper mills can now deal with just one contract and know they’re getting the best comprehensive service to meet all their individual needs,” said Rick Skaggs, TSP co-founder and president.

The acquisition included jobs for IMS’s team of nearly 30 engineers, who are vetted experts in providing services and parts for QCS, distributed control systems (DCS), camera, and other industrial control systems.

“TSP is proud to welcome IMS engineers to our family. We value excellence, and IMS built a culture that parallels our own. We’re pleased to work with these talented people and have them as part of our team,” said Skaggs.

TSP will showcase its newly expanded services at TAPPI PaperCon 2015 (booth #215), April 19-22, 2015 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
